Douglas A. Amo Douglas A. Amo became a partner in Pivo & Halbreich in October, 1992, and is a founding member of Pivo, Halbreich, Martin, Wilson & Amo, LLP. He has successfully represented a variety of clients, with significant experience and expertise in the handling of healthcare-related claims, including medical and hospital malpractice, hospital staffing, and healthcare benefit disputes. Mr. Amo handles personal injury and wrongful death cases including automobile, products liability, public entity and general liability issues. Mr. Amo’s trial experience includes numerous cases presented to Superior Court juries and binding arbitration panels, including complex medical malpractice and significant damages cases involving orthopedics; unusual infectious diseases; cardiac and vascular issues involving amputation; rare cardiac, vascular and neurologic anomalies in both infants and adults; various cancer cases and head and neck surgery.
Formerly with the National Park Service (in association with the U.S. Attorney’s Office), Mr. Amo prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes in Yosemite National Park.
